Rex Harris on how to use HubPages for fast Google listings

How to get top listings on Google… fast… using HubPages

I’d like to take a few minutes today and share with you a little known tactic for quick Google listings.

Most of the marketers that I have talked with, over the last year, have had one thing in common…. they don’t know how to take their promotions to the front pages of Google in order to reach their target market.

Last week, at the advice of a friend, I signed up for a blog site called HubPages and wrote an article.  To my surprise, when I woke up the next day, I found that article on the second page of Google under my target key phrase.

For the last 8 months I have been studying keyword research for the optimization of my web site.  Using the Google AdWords tool and DigitalPoint.com, I am able to plug in my keyphrase and find out how many searches are done, daily, for the key phrase I want to target.

While this knowledge alone is quite valuable, without the knowledge to apply that information to my marketing efforts, those keyword search tools are useless.

To succeed in the world of Web 2.0, people will need to know how to make things happen.  Perhaps you have heard, in your marketing circles, that blogging and article writing is one of those keys.  If that’s the case, it would be best advised to listen to those who know this, because it’s true… blogging can take you to the top of Google and more in record time.

To make this happen, you will need a few basic pointers to get started….

First, you will need to learn how to use the Google AdWords keyword tool.  You can access this tool by going to Google and searching the key phrase “keyword selector tool.”  Once that search has been completed, you will find the link for this tool in the top three listings of the page.  Upon arriving, simply enter the key words you want to research in the “keyword suggestion” box.

Second, you will need to know how to use DigitalPoint.com.  Upon arriving, if you scroll down and click “Webmaster Tools,” you will be taken to a page with multiple options.  Select the “keyword selection tool.”  You will then be prompted to enter words for phrase that you would like informatoin on.  The results given will tell you exactly how many searches are being done for your key phrase(s) daily.

Third, you will need to write an article on HubPages targeting your key phrase.  You will always want to include your key phrase is the title of all articles you want to optimize for the words/phrasing you have chosen.  You will also want to use that key phrase a couple of times in the early stages of your article because the search engines pick up the key phrase at the top of a document much better than when they are used in the middle or toward the end.

When writing your articles, stick to what you know.  One of the biggest mistakes most marketers make is to jump into someting before they know how to make it produce correctly.  It’s always best to take the time to learn and grow.  This process doesn’t mean that you have to quit working to learn.  Having the right mentor, you will be able to earn while you learn.

Hmmm…I read some good hubbers makes a good traffic using bookmarking sites.

And to build a good score on you hub you shouldn’t publish it right away. Make it stand for a day or two before publishing it. Some claimed they reach the score 70 before they publish it. You can try it though. I myself only made 65.
