How to get better traffic results with forums and groups by Rex Harris

Here are a few of the strategies I use to improve the results and traffic flow from groups and forums.

1.) Participate in the threads: If you go through the MySpace forums right now, you will see that most of the threads are just advertising and self promotion, in which no one participates. Chances are, you have found the forums here to be ineffective if you are using them for mere self promotion. Participating in relevant threads will bring more traffic through your profile, and it’s through your profile that you can direct traffic accordingly.

2.) Share information, techniques and pointers. When you share information with people that they can use to their benefit, and it works, they’re going to come back to you for more.

3.) When participating in a forum, don’t be afraid to let people know who you are. Introduce yourself to people, talk to people, get involved and be consistent.

4.) When doing business, a picture is worth a thousand words. I’m a firm believer in using a professional, legitimate image. A first impression is a lasting impression. You will find it difficult to attract money if you are dressed like a bum, have an angry look on your face, or are using a picture of pixies and fairy dust. Professionalism is huge so use it to your advantage.

5.) Don’t be overly critical. It doesn’t matter what people are doing online, even if they aren’t doing something perfect, there’s something that you can find that they have done right, or at the very least, are moving in the right direction. You’ll get much further pointing out something people are doing right than what they are doing wrong.

Forums and groups are great for driving traffic provided they are used correctly.

Multi-level marketing strategies using social networks by Rex Harris

March 31, 2008 rexharris 1 comment

If you and I are anything alike. you have a passion for this the Internet marketing industry.  Chances are, you have probably seen people come and go from your organization, just like I have.  The main reason that happens is lack of the right training

Finding a sponsor, in the world of MLM, that will help you at all is hard enough.  Finding one who actually has the knowledge to help you succeed is a task next to impossible anymore.  Most MLM‘ers, who have had any success, will probably have ties to old school marketing tactics… and that is a frustration that you do not need.

Here are some helpful tips for finding and becoming a good sponsor

1.)  Find and become a teacher.  There aren’t to many champions in life that didn’t have the help of a good coach, mentor or trainer.  Your future growth will depend upon your willingness to learn and, then, teach.

2.)  Put leaders on your front line.  You wouldn’t start a business without hiring qualified employees and managers… why would you build the front line of any matrix without leadersBusiness is businessonline business is the way of the future and there is no room for half a**ed recruiting effors.  Find people who can do the job.  Anything less is desperate and bad business, in my opinion.

3.)  Don’t be desperate, even if it means putting your online businesss of until a time when you can begin comfortably.  I’ve had people call me (true story) and tell me that they house was going to be reposessed the next day and what can I do to make $1200 by tomorrow.  If you are looking to the Internet to get out of a financially desperate situation, now is not the time for you to start.  You can’t start a successful online business without investing in it.  Don’t rob Peter to pay Paul… work hard to get what you need to start and do it the right way.  The greatest victories in life come after fierce battles.

Social networks like Direct Matches, MySpace, Yuwie and more are great places to find leaders to build your home based business, mlm opportunity or affiliate program.

Use the profiles of other Internet marketers and business opportunity seekers to qualify leaders for your business.  This will build a stronger downline and keep you in business through your retirement years and beyond.

Become an effective leader to decrease program hopping and attrition.  Using social communities, you can profile the beahvior of the people you bring into your business much better than just chasing leads.

Rex Harris on how to use Direct Matches for MLM prospects and leaders

One of the questions I hear the most from MLM‘ers is “how do I stop attrition?”  In other words, “how do I keep people from leaving my program for another, or just quitting in general?”

Here are a few techniques that you can use to build and keep a strong downline:

Leadership:  This is the number one problem in MLM.  People want huge downlines, but they don’t want the do the work of teaching others how to become successful.  Find a good mentor who can teach you how to become an effective leader.  If you are struggling with a failing downline, it’s time for a change and all change comes from the top… that’s you!  Don’t wait for someone else to get the job done, take charge and make things happen!

Delegation:  Most MLM sponsors only want the money that comes from having a huge downline and don’t care about the those who they bring into their business.  This is a mistake that will bring failure upon you fast.  People want to feel needed, so get to know the people in your group and delegate leadership to them so they can grow a successful business.  Find a good training platform, where you can refer people to learn.  As a leader, you should always be learning as well.

Commitment:  To most peoople, Internet business is a game or a hobby.  Business is business.  Treat your business like a business and it will pay you back!

Loyalty:  Be loyal to your downline and your business.  Program hopping, using traffic and lead generation programs that distract, money games, etc., are all damaging when it comes to focus.  If you are in charge, you control what resources your team uses, keeping the team focused and prosperous.

One of the best resources for prospecting online is a business community known as Direct Matches.  At Direct Matches, you step into an online world of would be leaders to build your MLM opportunity.  Having solid leaders on your front line, who care about the success of others, know how to teach and are teachable themselves, will make a monumental difference in the long term success of your business.

To use DM effectively, I require my students to join at the basic level (about $10 per month).  This gives them the ability to contact anyone in Direct Matches via the DM email feature.  As Direct Matches has a database in the millions, you will never run out of qualifiable leads!  Think about it… where else are you going to find leads that include photo, interests, business information and more?

Each time a new member joins Direct Matches, I welcome them by getting them acquainted with my name.  Name recognition (branding) is the real key to success online.  Using this method I get a 99% response rate.  The only time I don’t get a response is if that person has created a phony profile.  Otherwise, it’s easy to egage people in conversation and convert them the qualified website traffic.

Rex Harris on how to use direct sales techniques to build your MLM based home business

March 30, 2008 rexharris 1 comment

14 years ago this summer, I answered a small classified, in a local newspaper, that changed my life.  I didn’t realize it at the time, but the skills I would learn by taking the risk I took, are skills that are helping me build my Internet based home business to levels of success that I only could dream of, all those years ago.

The ad that I answered was for a “set up and display” position for home care products.  Translated, that meant vacuum cleaner salesman.  I’m here to tell you that if you can go door to door and sell a $1500 vacuum cleaner to people you have never met before (in less than two hours) you can sell just about anything!

One of the biggest fears Internet marketers and home business owners face is the fact that it’s a “sales” based business.  It’s true.  If you are in business to make money, then 99% of the time, you have a product or service to sell.  In order for you to sell that product or service to people, you need to tell them about it.  That’s selling!

Selling is not complicated.  Selling is nothing more than knowing how to ask specific questions while building value in your product.

Before this can ever happen, expecially in MLM and Internet based sales, you must build a relationship.  Most people here this term and think it will slow them down and that they won’t get the massive numbers they need to build their organization so they can make money fast.

The truth is, you can build an MLM, or any business, much faster, if you seek out quality, versus quantity, when it comes to prospects.  The easiest way to do this is to sell YOU!  Once people are sold on you, selling yoru product(s) is much easier.

Make a friend, make a sale!  It works!
